Lewis Driskell
An engineer with a taste for adventure, Lewis Driskell grew up in 37 states and three countries. Before coming to Kiawah, Lewis served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois, and owned an engineering company that designed manufacturing processes for familiar products such as Butterfinger, Pampers, and Mercedes. Aside from his engineering degree from The Citadel, he recently earned his M.S. in Mathematics. Lewis is also a certified Master Scuba Diver, Deep-Water Salvage Diver, and a licensed pilot. He moved to Kiawah in 2001, where he enjoys mixing community service with his under and over water exploits. A member of Rotary and the Kiawah Island Community Association’s Community Services Committee, Lewis also supports the Lions Club and Habitat for Humanity, and is active at Church of Our Savior. "There is no better place on earth to witness the presence and wonderment of God’s work on earth than on Kiawah," he says. "Kiawah Island is like a large, flawless diamond. There are so many facets to the gem, that if you are not with someone who understands the true, complete value of the Island, you'll miss much of the Island's beauty and the things that make Kiawah very special unlike anywhere else on earth."
