Marianne Blair, a New York City native, came to Charleston some thirty years ago. Drawn to Kiawah’s natural beauty, she moved to the Island a few years later to work with KIRE, a career she describes as extremely rewarding. The rewards are the priceless relationships she builds with her clients that begin with the individual, extend to the entire family, and last for generations. She watches as their children grow up, becoming a part of their lives, both professionally and personally. "One of the most satisfying aspects of my role on Kiawah is helping clients become part of this magical place," she says. Marianne enjoys meeting people from all over the world who share a common respect for Kiawah Island and fitting them with the perfect property. She also enjoys sharing the Island with her own family. "My husband and I have five children and six grandchildren and rarely visit them," she says. "Everyone wants to gather on Kiawah to create those special memories. Kiawah Island has everything anyone, but especially children, could want. It isn’t a place. It’s a state of mind, always full of sublime, unexpected surprises. How lucky we are that Kiawah’s stewardship is second to none."
